💛 Support Living Artists. Buying Handmade is SEXYYYY!!
Last week we had the joy of stepping into Corvinus University as an official sponsor of a student-led sustainability event — and it turned out to be one of the most heartwarming days we’ve had in a long time.
The entire event was built around a simple but powerful idea:
How can creativity help us live more sustainably, express ourselves, and build a kinder world?
And honestly, seeing so many students excited about art, handmade culture, and eco-conscious living gave us so much hope.
The students at Corvinus didn’t just organize another academic talk.
They created a space where conversation, craft, and community blended effortlessly.
The event focused on:
🌱 Sustainable thinking
🎨 The value of handmade art
♻️ Choosing creation over consumption
💡 Using your imagination instead of buying trends
It was amazing to see sustainability explained not through charts or theories, but through art — through objects made with intention, patience, and love.
One of the highlights of the event was its theme: Labubu.
Labubu is not just a cute creature from the art toy world — it represents the heart of collectible creativity, imagination, and emotional expression. Students shared stories about how Labubu inspires them, how it reflects their moods, and why handmade characters feel more special than anything mass-produced.
And that’s when the real fun began.
At the end of the event, we all sat down together for a hands-on session:
everyone made their own handmade Labubu.
No rules.
No pressure.
Just clay, markers, ideas, and pure childlike joy.
Some students made funny versions.
Some made emotional ones.
Some made mini characters that looked like them.
Every Labubu came out different — and every single one felt alive in its own way.
It was the perfect example of sustainable creativity:
using simple materials, no waste, and tons of imagination to make something meaningful.
To appreciate their effort and enthusiasm, we gave a free handmade gift to every student who took part in the workshop.
But there was one more surprise…
One student received a special handmade artwork from one of our Japanese artists — a unique, beautiful piece that traveled all the way from Japan to Budapest.
She held it like it was something precious, and in that moment, you could feel exactly why handmade matters.
Because everything the Corvinus team stood for — creativity, sustainability, community, kindness — is what we believe in too.
We’re not just a store.
We’re a space where artists from around the world meet, share, and inspire each other.
And we want students to feel that they are a part of this world too — not later, but now.
If even one student walked away thinking,
“I can create something meaningful,”
then this event was a success.
Thank you for inviting us.
Thank you for believing in art.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to connect with students who care about sustainability and creativity just as much as we do.
We left with full hearts — and we hope the students left with full inspiration.
Until the next workshop — keep creating, keep caring, and keep imagining.
Love,
The Love Art Budapest Family
